How information is handled across the website, wallet and connected services.

This policy covers this website. The ZEUS WALLET desktop application is separate software that runs on your own computer.
We do not ask you to create an account to download or use the wallet, and we do not require you to identify yourself to use this site.
Standard technical information is processed to serve the site, such as the request your browser makes and the page it asks for. This is what any web server needs to respond to a request.
Optional cookies are only set if you accept them. You can accept all, reject non-essential, or choose individually, and change your mind at any time from the Cookies page.
We do not sell data, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors.
Core application settings and wallet connection configuration are managed locally on the device where ZEUS WALLET is installed.
Depending on the wallet mode and services you choose, ZEUS WALLET may also communicate with remote infrastructure. Examples can include a Lightning node, LSP, Esplora server, VSS storage service, Nostr relay, LNDHub backend or ecash mint. Those services receive the information necessary to perform the operation you request.
For example, an embedded LDK Node wallet may use an Esplora server for on-chain synchronization, and that server can see the Bitcoin addresses the wallet queries. Its Lightning channel state may be stored through VSS; that state is encrypted on the device before it is sent. Not every ZEUS WALLET mode uses Esplora or VSS, and different configurations have different privacy characteristics.
When ZEUS WALLET-operated remote services are used, technical information such as an IP address may be processed where necessary to operate the service or mitigate abuse.
ZEUS WALLET is designed so that highly sensitive secrets such as recovery words and node credentials are not intentionally sent to ZEUS WALLET-operated services simply for analytics or profiling.
Bitcoin is a public network: on-chain transactions, including channel opens and closes, are visible to anyone and are permanent.
Lightning peers that forward your payments see the hop they handle. Any external node, account-style backend, ecash mint or relay you connect to sees the operations you ask it to perform, under its own privacy practices.
Your internet provider can see that you are making connections, unless you route them through Tor.
You can use the wallet without optional cookies, decline analytics on this site, connect over Tor where your node supports it, and run your own infrastructure instead of relying on someone else's.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data that is processed about you. Because this site is built to avoid collecting personal data in the first place, there is usually very little to exercise them against.
