ZEUS WALLET asks you to create or connect a wallet before showing the Portfolio screen.

If you create a self-custodial wallet, write your recovery words down on paper before you receive funds. If you connect a remote node, you supply the connection details for that node instead.

Wallet configuration is managed locally. Connections to nodes and supporting services exchange the information required for the selected setup.

Recovery words let you restore on-chain funds in a compatible wallet.

Lightning is different: channels depend on current channel state, not only on your seed. Treat channel backups and node data as a separate responsibility from your recovery words.

Do not assume a seed phrase alone restores everything held in Lightning channels.

Check that you have enough outbound liquidity for the amount plus fees, that your node connection is online, and that the invoice has not expired.

Raising the maximum fee can help when no cheap route exists. Retrying after a peer reconnects also often works.

ZEUS WALLET can run an embedded Lightning setup, or connect to a node you operate: LND, Core Lightning, LNDHub, and Nostr Wallet Connect.

Connections can be made over Tor where your node exposes an onion service.

You can keep several connections configured and switch between them from the context bar at the top of the application window.
